At a recent middle school parent meeting, parents requested information on how to access events, times and locations of activities throughout the district. This article is meant to help parents navigate all the information provided by the district in an efficient manner by answering the following question:
“How do I keep up with activities on a weekly basis within Falls City Public Schools?”
Answer: There are multiple ways to do this. The best and most accurate way to is access the R School app. You can set the R School app to notify you of schedule changes or cancellation of events. This app contains every event in the district at every school for that week. The R School app can be downloaded to your Apple or Android phone free of charge. You can also access R School through the FC Tiger app or through the website. The picture below shows how to access R School from the Website:

In addition to R School, Mr. Hogue is also going to text a link to families each week with our weekly activity schedule. Just click the link and it will open up the calendar of events for the week. However, if an event changes you will need to check R School as it is automatically updated when changes are made.
Finally, you can go to the District 56 Facebook page and scroll through all the news in the district. This does not always contain ALL the events but does contain reminders. If you only scroll through your Facebook feed you may miss some reminders. The best way to utilize the District 56 Facebook page is to actually visit the page and scroll through the updates. These news items are also posted in the “Live Feed” and “News Articles” on the web page.
The webpage and app also have a general events calendar at the bottom of the page. The web site and app events page does not include athletic events. It is just a general reminder of events that may be coming up like early dismissal or vacation days. This is not an all-inclusive source of events but it is accurate for what is posted.
Middle School posts their daily announcements for parents on YouTube. Simply search Jack Bangert in YouTube, or click the link from the webpage to access the announcements directly.
In addition to the district social media, students in grades PCC-2nd utilize Class Dojo. ClassDojo is a school communication platform that teachers, students, and families use every day to build close-knit communities by sharing what's being learned in the classroom home through photos, videos, and messages. Teachers use Class Dojo to promote positive behaviors in their classroom and to strengthen lines of communication between school and home. This is done primarily through Class Dojo's 'Dojo Point' system and messaging system that connects teachers and parents. Parents receive login information from their child's classroom teacher. Talk to your child's teacher for more information!
