Falls City High School has had numerous opportunities to explore various college and career learning opportunities during the first quarter of the school year. Falls City Public Schools understands the need to expose students to multiple different career pathways throughout their educational journey. Kraemer/BNSF Jobsite visit near Rulo, Nebraska on October 11th
Students learned about the requirements for various industry professions at Falls City career/manufacturing day, Sabetha manufacturing day, and the Kraemer/BNSF jobsite visit. Students were allowed to engage in conversation with employees of the businesses to further their knowledge of the type of work and benefits provided to employees.
Falls City hosted a college fair that included 40 booths for college and military recruiters to meet with students regarding their future plans. HTRS, JCC, and Sacred Heart were invited and attended the event. Following the college fair, Falls City seniors participated in the Apply2College event. Students filled out college applications with the assistance of Haylee Erickson, Sarah Barker, and college representatives (Peru State, Northwest Missouri State, and UNO),
Students that attended Peru State educators days were able to participate in multiple breakout sessions with college professors to learn about various teaching pathways that they could pursue. Students got to tour the campus and hear from the admissions office.
The district would like to thank Ms. Barker for organizing these opportunities and Mr. Windle, Mrs. Erickson, and Mrs. Harling for helping supervise students so they were able to attend.
